I am teh suX0r editor…

So, IMHO Episode 3 has our best content yet. We really hit a groove, and it felt much more natural. I was super pleased. Then we went into the editing process, and my long nightmare began. I am glad I didn’t open my mouth at the podcasting seminar lavishing Garage Band with praise. Because it sucks goat balls. It really does. It kept loosing tracks during saves, and took a process into about double the time I had alloted…in that process I screwed up, and now we have a double intro into the review for Five Fingers. It was my bad, and a product of rushing to get it out the door. I would re-edit and fix, but I just need to put this bad boy to bed. I plan on reevaluating audio software this week.

Episode 4 brings an interview with Brush Thrall Finn Kisch. He is my bestest buddy, and an all around good guy. It was fun to tape…so much so, he is joining us often from now on.

Finally, one of the last things I forgot to mention out of the Podcasting seminar was this question: Would y’all have an interest in unedited, raw real play recordings? IE if we play ourselves a game of Prime Time Adventures, would you like to listen to the session? That seemed to be much requested at the seminar, and I was curious…

A session of PtA would be outstanding. A session of Artesia [or some other… yawn… fantasy RPG], not.

When the frig is the next OgreCave podcast coming out anyway? Or is cutting off the supply your secret plan to force everyone here?

Hmmm, PTA…now that’s interesting. Brian? Thoughts?

As for OC, I am “talent”. I show up and record. I don’t do any editing or heavy lifting over there. But I will pass the word 😉 Thanks for bidding your time over here!

Well, to be fair to Finn … he’s not only your bestest friend and fun, but he’s our Sound Engineer and the Composer / Performer (yea, we have our own frickin’ band 😉 ), as well as an award-winning painter, contest judge, and well-practiced GM … not counting the stuff I left out. And that’s why he’s on the podcast. :)

As for a session of PtA (or maybe Wushu), that’s a possibility. I don’t know how much folks are up to being taped.

Play recordings: Very Yes.

I don’t think I could handle a recorded game session…. maybe if it was edited way down… but probably not.

Loosing tracks? As in releasing them?

Chris August 31, 2006 at 9:04 am

Hey Lupus, it has been the strangest thing. Once a file has been saved in Garageband, distinct sections of my audio tracks go corrupt. The software warns me this has happened, claims it is trying to find them, and then just dumps them out of my current project. It has happened several times, and is very random. GB is being replaced in my arsenal asap.

The last episode sounded fine to me. No worse than most podcasts. Better than OgreCave…

Would love to listen to a gaming session… play on.

BTW, Brian’s first BattleTech game sounded like alot of fun.

I’d like to here a short session of Wushu or PTA to see how the game plays.

I don’t get a chance to go to many Cons to get demos, and am not playing in any RPGs right now because I’m tired of the traditional GM/Storyteller stopping every once in the while to let me roll dice before he goes on with the story.
